Purpose

This Sleeping Bag has been designed especially for military operations, using proven British Army designs and materials, adjusting the amount of filling and insulation so that it is suitable for moderate climatic conditions.

The benefit of the synthetic filling used, is that the Sleeping Bag can be washed by hand or in a conventional washing machine. Should the bag become wet in operations, it can be wrung out and will still maintain a good level of insulation.

Design

The basic design is based on the former feather and down British Army 'Sleeping Bag and General Service', NATO Stock Number: 8465-99-120-8987, using modern fillings and incorporating a waterproof base and hood. The bag rolls into the hood for easy carriage on a rucksack.

Press fasteners are provided for attachment of a poncho to give overhead cover. Entrance is by a central three quarter length zip, covered by an insulating flap. The upper surface is permeable, for greater comfort in hot conditions. Two separate layers of DuPont hollow fibre filling provides insulation. The quilt pattern reduces movement of the filling and quilt lines are offset to reduce cold spots. The lower layer extends into a hood which is drawn around the user's face by a drawstring.

Colours

The photograph shows the bag in Olive Green and Sand colours, but can be produced to customer's specific requirements.

All materials are specified, and in use with the British Ministry of Defence.

Filling

6.33 decitex, a blend of 4/7 - hole polyester fibre, 75mm staple length, with fire retardant surface modified finish. Weight - 5.5oz/sq yd. (two layers = 11oz/sq yd).
