Purpose

The illustrated Body Armour is intended for wear by combat troops to protect them principally from fragments generated by explosive munitions, but will also protect from some low velocity bullets.

It is designed to be worn as an under- or an over-garment.

Special attention has been paid to comfort and compatibility with other military clothing and personal equipment. The comfort factor is of special importance to enable the soldier to operate effectively, but this has to be balanced with the need to give adequate protection to the vital areas.

Description

The filler is composed of multiple layers of woven aramid and nylon ballistic cloths, encased in a sealed waterproof cover, to give a front-opening protective ensemble.

This is inserted in a washable and replaceable outer fabric cover, which can either be in woodland or desert camouflage pattern.

The cover is adjustable by means of two straps with touch and close fastenings at either side, and carries loops at front and rear to anchor the set to the waist belt.

Two chest pockets are provided.

The set is provided in six sizes, again with the comfort factor in mind.

Size Range

Six sizes are offered, covering three height brackets, each with a choice of two appropriate chest fittings.
